first off, i can't believe that you compared your 'tables to those of shindo. i would think that would make many people laugh.that said, a huge advantage of idlers has been that they produce good sound (if old/worn parts are replaced with newer ones and some work is done to the plinth) *at a low/reasonable cost*.
the shindo kind of loses that 'value' factor.
at $20k, there are numerous turntables that "have it all". (surprisingly and sadly, there are also turntables at that price that are unsuitable for all types of music. that is a tragedy!)
