I don't know what the benefit would be with the stuff you have in your system right now, but a separate phono stage of decent quality will allow you to tweak the settings of any future cartridge you might acquire. This is especially true of low output moving coils, although most phono amps tend to be superior devices to the built-in ones. Of course, all that depends on the make and model of the phono stage, as well as the preamp used. I can't speak about the particular phono stage that you are considering, however, because I have no personal experience with it.
