Home Vinyl Asylum

Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

They don't call them the mafiaa for nothing.

Here's what I want to know:

Let's say I've got a particular song 4 times over at home. Let's say I have the original paid-for CD, LP, cassette and a box-set giving me the rights to own a particular song. Now, let's say one day I snag the song off a file-sharing program because I want to hear it while I'm somewhere else and I get a $3K extortion letter from the RIAA. Would I have the defense that I didn't steal anything- that I legally own the song and did not acquire anything new for free by downloading it?
