I have been running this DL-103 for a couple months and have been eager to do a re-tip because the sound is too soft, round, not boring but somewhat soporific if you listen for any duration.I tried a suggestion that someone gave me a while back: putting duct tape on the sides of the cartridge.
The sound became a lot livlier. It was not exacly detail that was delivered but the roundness moved off a lot and there is more of this magic midrange thing. A lot more.
Anyway, always eager for a dose of derision, I thought i'd post the latest in an unending train of DL-103 posts.
This has got me thinking that the big, heavy 'cartridge case' that's sold by a certain someone on ebay may be for real. Or go nude. This has probably been brought up before but it is my first experience with it. Has anyone else done something like this?
p.s. duct tape is black, too. ;-)
