Update on the Russco TT rebuild and a few questions

Where to start?? The birch ply / mdf plinth is in the process of being urethaned. Top and sides have two coats and the bottom has three or four. I used the bottom for practice. I have the metal Russco plinth completely stripped of paint. I haven't been able to begin painting it yet because it's either been raining or extremely windy here for the last week. Once that is done, I have to reassemble the table. I disassembled, cleaned, lubed, and reassembled the bodine motor last night. Kim G was right, that's about the simplest assembly I've ever seen. One of the VA forum members has kindly offered to send me a plywood armboard (thanks Jim). It will need to be sanded and finished when it arrives. OK, I think that brings all of that up to date.

Now for the questions:
Anybody have any idea about the size of the ball bearing in the bottom of the boding motor? This one has a bad spot on it and it needs to be replaced. How about the ball bearing in the bottom of the Russco platter? I'd like to replace that as well but I don't know its size either. I've heard mention of micro polishing. Can someone explain what that is; and can I do that myself?
