It's Casals playing a couple of Beethoven cello sonatas. I hadn't listened to it in years until the other day. I was quite pleasantly surprised at how good it sounded. Very little noise and very good fidelity to tone colors and ambience. Based solely on that, I wouldn't hesitate to take the plunge on others in the series.
