Re: ha ha!

I got a bit lucky on the weekend. Bought about 25 records from a guy for $40. 3 of them were Bridge of Sighs, Twice Removed and Long Misty Days, all in near mint condition. I've only cleaned and spun Twice Removed, and only a few songs on it at that. Still have about 16 or 17 of that lot to clean.

The standout in the cleaned group so far has been "Steppin' Out" Eric Clapton featured with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers (also with Champion Jack Dupree and Otis Spann). Mainly Bluesbreakers stuff from the first Bluesbreakers/Clapton record with 4 other cuts involving Dupree or Spann. Great performances and very really high quality sound as well-I'm really happy with this one and quite surprised at how good it sounds in light of it being a compilation.

Also cleaned a quad pressing of Santana's "Caravanserai" which has stunning sound quality-I've only spun part of it as well. A nice copy of Lou Reed's "Rock and Roll Animal" and Iggy Pop's "The Idiot", both of which I like as well.

AC/DC, a couple of King Crimson's, two more Santana's, EL&P's "Works", the soundtrack from Tommy and Clapton's"Backless" are among the others in the "to clean" pile.
