Jazz Tribune Series?

Anyone have any thoughts, soundwise, on these sets?
I have a feeling that for vintage jazz (of which I have quite a few Mosaic CD set, for example), is probably better served by CD reissue programs as of late - but I'd like to track down some LPs for comparison sake.
A good example are what I've seen around town are two-fer sets by Fletcher Henderson and McKinney's Cotton Pickers.
