I've been pondering the recent Lenco craze. The price of Lencos and scarcity of them have me pondering other idler options. Would it be worth it to take a Dual 1019 or 1229, strip it down to the bare essentials and put it on a nice looking slab of wood? I know the platters should be heavy enough, folks say the motors are great, and the looks appeal to me. I trust I can get enough of the extraneous mechanisms off to satisfy me. However, I don't know what the bearings are like. Are the good enough to make the project worth it? How do they compare to the Lenco heavy platter model bearings?pj
