I recently acquired the Thorens Stabilizer for my heavily modified 125MK II - very stylish and classic accessory and lo and behold I think it makes a difference soundwise as well. I am using Herbie's mat. The notes are fuller. Not a huge difference but definitely audible. But it looks great doesn't it....:-)The springs are adjusted to its use btw.
