Pinging OMalley - you made my wife cry

69.19.14.27

I want to thank you for the time you spent on reviewing opamps for the Bugle. Taking your recommendation I bought the 825 mini-board. It is hard to believe the change it made. That is a really good way to spend $40.

Your description of the sound of this chip was just right. I highly recommend it to anyone using a Bugle.

After several hours of burn time we played the Brahms Double Concerto with Oistrakh/Fournier/Galliera. I've had this record for many years. It had great separation within the string section and delivered the starting rip of massed strings which was never presented before. The sound stage was slightly narrower but had much more depth. We're dancing and doing a lot more toe tapping. The conveyance of emotion is much stronger. My wife was moved by some pieces that she had listened to often without having that kind of reaction.

Once you get your Cornet and can experiment more with the Bugle try eliminating the y plugs you use and hardwire as much as you can to see what you think of that sound.
