I've been trying to service a pair of Pink Triangle PT TOO turntables for the past two or three months. I picked these up from a shop in the UK, and both units had several problems.
One common problem for both turntables, was that the motors were extremely noisy.
It turns out that the original motor is a Premotek motor and I found a drop in replacement.
I contacted Premotec regarding the SY31 syncronous motor which is listed on their website.

A few days later, I received a response from McLennan in the UK.

They gave me a part number for a replacement motor: the part number is 9904 111 31302. The new motors arrived this week and I installed one - big improvement, almost silent operation. These motors feature an integrated plastic thrust pad, so are actually an improvement on the original!
I don't know about other turntables using synchronous motors, but I can heartily recommend the Premotec 9904 111 31302 as a drop in replacement motor for the Pink Triangle PT TOO!
The price was UKP 30.50 + V.A.T + postage.
