I don't know. I'm listening to Coltrane's Meditations right now and although it does sound nice with a drummer in each channel, McCoy Tyner's piano is completely cut off at the knees and doesn't exhibit any of the power that he is known for. I think Tyner takes the piano's roll as a "percussion" instrument seriously. ;)
