Phono stage upgrade from GSP Era Gold V.

I'm currently using a Cartrdigeman Musicmaker with the Era Gold with a Schroder Model 2 arm on a Michell Gyrodec, and am pleased with the results but have the urge to try for something better.
It gives a lively perofrmance with a clear and smooth treble but I'm looking for something with a bit more weight in the bass and lower mids, and with less treble emphasis. It's not what I would call bright but I would like the trable to be a bit more recessed.I have my system in a smallish room and this may cause an overemphasis in HF.
I've read excellent reviews of the EAR Yoshino phono stage on a website called 10 vinyls or soemthing like that and it sounds what I'm looking for,but any recommendations will be welcome.I am looking to spend around £1000($2000) new or used.
Ideally I'd like the flexibility to to buy lower output cartridges in the futre so it should have MM/MC capability.

thanks for any advice,
mick.
