Oh yeah. And I love it when it does!

My musical tastes are always evolving. And I like it that way.

I used to be a classic rock guy. Zeppelin, Floyd, The Who, etc. Then in the late 80s, I discovered the beauty of jazz via a weekly radio show. I got more heavily into the jazz stuff in the mid-90s. Mostly stuff like Bird, Diz, Miles, Coltrane, Brubeck... And then later, Oscar Peterson, Lee Konitz, Gerry Mulligan, Steve Lacy, and contemporary artists like Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Mulgrew Miller, and Jaco Pastorius. I still listened to a little rock, but jazz had become the next big thing for me.

And then, about 5 years ago a friend told me to check out this Clash concert he had on video. I'd heard the two or three hits that rock radio played, but not anything beyond that. I watched the video & blammo! I was hooked on punk.

After that I started getting all kinds of punk & no-wave music. Just voraciously devouring it. Music from Television, Richard Hell, Tom Verlaine, The Replacements, Dead Kennedys, The Minutemen, fIREHOSE, X, Pere Ubu, The Pop Group, Bad Brains, Ramones, Lou Reed... all kinds of terrific stuff! I'd say my listening nowadays is primarily jazz and non-commercial rock. I don't dip too much into the classic rock genre these days.

I love a good epiphany!

Cheers & enjoy that wonderous and beautiful phenomenon called music!
Bobbo :-)
