In that search, you will see various comments that I made in the past. Many are very favorable to the spotmat, and some of them were made not so long ago. Recently, however, I have joined the camp of those who believe that no mat at all is the best solution. That said, I believe the spotmat is a good solution for those who must have a mat because some platters won't work right without one.
