Stereo/mono

I'm one of those guys that always defaults to stereo when it comes to most music. Jazz in mono is fine, but to my ears rock or classical in mono loses something, no matter how phony or ping-pong the stereo effect is.
I can easily live with the poor sonics on Velvet Underground and Nico because a) the music is terrific, b) you can easily understand all the words, and c) it's not nearly the worst LP in my collection.
Here's something else about my 1975 Verve reissue copy--Side 2 is pressed off center, and not by just a little. You can plainly see the tonearm swinging back and forth. But because of the discordant nature of the Velvets' music, the wow is barely noticable! I was going to hog out the center hole with a file, but I'm not sure I really need to.
BTW, you're right about Loaded. I easily found an original grey-label Cotillion for about $10.
