Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

I am just hoping my next LP-34 sound as good as yours.....

It is really really rough....plus the platter has this rotate in and out 45 spindle piece that simply has to go! What were they thinking?

I disassembled everthing today and tomorrow I will tear down the motor and clean all the parts.

DAMN early Rek O Kuts....every one seems to have a different motor. This one is labeled ROK and has oiling tubes....

It is a shaded pole motor. If I can swing it, I am going to modify this one to run the Pabst Hysteresis three phase 120 V motor.....

I will need to take some measurements tomorrow and see if this can be done. If not, I will eventually machine up the right parts and make it happen anyway....

Be on the look out for any of the N12H belt drive tables. These have the Pabst motor and I see these selling for under 200 dollars routinely. Just the motor alone is worth this price.

Ray O Stat said his VPI was transformed with a Pabst thread drive motor. I know exactly what he means.

I am glad you are liking the Rek O Kut. They have a sense of PRAT and livelyness that is only hinted at with other platforms.

Now for the really important stuff, any recent pics of the Gazebo?
