I thought I'd "clean my clock" today by going to some atonal inspired tonal music of the glorious 20th century. I would HIGHLY recommend any of these recordings. They're all absolutely stunning sonically as well as musically.Lutoslawski has incredibly complex and "other-worldly" musical lines that can get lost.......but you do survive!
Then there's Krenek and "Horizon Field" Op 196.....Yipeee!!
Good ol Kronos........String Quartet kalidescope.........
Considering Kronos plays Bartok string Quartet No 3, I thought I'd checkout some other Bartok........
After my Bartok fix, I wanted to end my re-vamping session with one last string quartet.........the Rochberg is a fav!
Again folks........whatever your taste, take a chance on one of these just for a change.........you might feel in the mood for one of these on some sunny day!
Cheers, Tom B. (listening to a 12" UK 45 of "Heroin"/ Velvet Underground)
