Cleaning out WORD documents and found this: (beware...it's sick and about us!)

SAD END
a short story about an LP collector and obsessions.

"It's true! I saw him do it! Leaning against the shelves, looking at the records on that third shelf. I was drinking a cup of coffee, sitting in that rickety chair you keep in the record room. He saw that record; I heard him murmuring something that sounded like, 'I can't believe he has that...' and he babbled something else, but I saw him take the record from the shelf and place it under his shirt. I woulda said something, but he can be a mean sombitch, ya know?"

"He said that you took it!"

"I don't even have a record player, fer chrissakes! What would I do with it?"

"I don't know, but you were moaning about no money last week and now ya got that Harley sittin' in the driveway!"

"Shit, Mom gave me the money, you really think I'd steal an album from you? Mom would kill me!"

"I'd kill you! I asked Mom where you got the money for that, she said she didn't know."

"She wanted to keep it a secret from you!"

"She never has before, she always complains to me when you ask her for money!"

"Really?"

"I want that record back, I don't care how you get it. Steal it! You took it from me, take it from the guy you sold it to!"

"I didn't take it!"

"I'll give you 'till tomorrow, then I'll shove that Harley up your ass!"

"He…he doesn't live around here. He lives in Maine."

"Maine? How the fuck did you sell anything to someone in Maine?"

"E-bay, man! How else could I have gotten what it's worth!"

"I don't care if you got a dollar! I want it back or Mom has one son and I'm not bullshitting you!"

"I'll kill you, you weird shit!"

"You'll kill me? You'll kill me?"

"I don't even know how it ended up in my hand, officer."

If I had more money I'd soon be broke...but I'd have more LPs!
