I bought one last year to put on a Pioneer PL-12D I picked up for my 14 year old at a garage sale for $5. Combined with a DB Systems MM phono pre, this table/cartridge combo is very impressive. I can see where some might find the AT 120E to be a bit too energetic, but it is really a great cartridge for playing 70's-80's rock which is what he does. I have Henry and Fred J to thank for being high on the AT 120E and influencing my buying decision.Frankly, when you look at the quality of the good AT's and Denon's at their price points it is pretty hard for me to get excited about plopping down big $$$ for a cartridge. They are indeed the "workhorses" of phono cartridges; I think you can pay a ton more and really not get much more in the way of performance.
