I just had to BEG for $2K........she enjoyed it very much

Very funny!..heres a thought. Have it shipped to your office next time! (Or neighbor/friend etc..) Another trick is to tell her before hand that you have a big package coming and NOT TO OPEN IT--a mistake was made the box has to be shipped right back. (Then sneak away when she's not around, open the box and discard all evidence)

Recently I had a turntable purchase that I just could not pass up and I had to move very fast. It was 10:00 am on a Saturday, and I had two hours to get cash out of my bank account. (I had $700 quickly available and the bank closes at 12:00)

I had to beg for over an hour. It went something like this... I said " Ohh my god..honey I have a huge emergency I need help with and we have to move fast"

She " Who's dying? Is everyone all right? Where is our son?"

Me "No, there is a turntable for sale on audiogon. ITS A SPACEDECK WITH A LYRA CARTRIDGE can you believe it!?!?!"

She---no words at all. Talk about a priceless look on a wifes face. She went right back to reading the paper.

She let me beg for about 45 minutes. (I have absolutely no problem begging, its part of being married) and in the end I think she realized it would be easier to help me out then to listen to me all day. She did enjoy making me squirm though.

I think I married the right one. I'm just not sure she got the good end of the deal. Our poor wives.
