Re: noise vs no noise

Even the cleanest record has some noise when you put the needle to the record. I know there are some people who mute it. That can be a nice trick if auditioning for digital people who expect vinyl to be supernoisy.

One nice thing about that lead-in noise, though, is you get a hint of volume level before the music starts.

I remember when CDs first came out, the novelty of the music coming out of nothing was a major selling point. So then all these idiots started buying bunches of CDs and selling off their vinyl collection.
