I third the story. Joel rebuilt my Dual 1219 in January 2004. More than 2 years later, a plastic piece that controls the arm cycling mechanism broke. I took it back to him, he took it apart, diagnosed the problem, informed me there were no replacement parts available, and proceded use his dremel tool to modify a similar part from a 1245 so that it would work on my table. Then told me he wasn't going to charge me because he had previously rebuilt it, and considered this "warranty work". I insisted on paying him, and I think he ended up accepting $35 for the work.
Truly a good guy, and definitely has some serious health issues. To the extent he can do work for you, he's a great resource. Good to know he's still getting on.
