Sorry you were so troubled because your CDP, that sounds like a pillow is covering up the sound, sounded better than your TT which you now admit might have had a defective cartridge.Instead of fixing the TT problem you went out and bought a much more expensive TT setup and are now praising your setup for being the way it should be because it now sounds better than you CDP.
To me it sounds like your CD is broken or is connected to the system with the wrong cables. Why don't you go out and buy a much more expensive CDP and see if that fixes it for you.
LOL! You my vinyl loving AA pal are the epitome of an audiophile riding on the audio merry-go-round. Maybe if you spent more time fixing and properly setting up the good equipment you've owned you wouldn't be constantly spending more all the time.
You're spiraling down the same path you were previously on - you know the own where you had an expensive audio system and you sold it, went back to midfi, told us how much you loved it there, only to return to you old ways of pissing your money into the wind.
Hopefully other audiophiles around here are learning from your examples.
