What I found interesting, when doing a bit of homework on the 16 2/3 RPM format, was discovering that the double 45 degree cutting profile for stereo was invented and patented by Alan Blumlein of EMI in 1931. EMI cut the first stereo test discs in 1933, but the system wasn't used for production until 25 years later.I guess the imagination and iniative of the Engineering types was a bit ahead of the Marketing group. Oh, how so little has changed....
