Has anyone upgraded to the new VPI Super Platter? It is a 25lb acrylic/stainless steel/acrylic sandwich and is advertised to fit all VPI turntables except for the HR-X.The claim is that this platter has much better bass performance, incredible speed stability, a lower noise floor with deeper blacker backgrounds, improved soundstaging cues and delivers greater slam and power.
I have a Super Scoutmaster Signature TT and I'm wondering if this new platter really is a worthwhile upgrade.
