as Mikey calls it...but when I changed out the ball bearing in my Thorens, I accidentally used a smaller ball the first time, which of course upped the VTA a bit. Since fixing the ball prob, I've played with VTA a few times and had consistent results: With a little increase in angle, the stage gets narrower and more focused, and WAY deeper. Also, any "harshness" is gone. Too much and it gets a bit unnatural, but just right and it's pretty wicked cool.
