Ittok anti-skate repair problem

81.158.201.174

Can anyone help me!

My Ittok's LVII's antiskate is miscalibrated in that you have to apply much more anti-stake than tracking force to get the right level of anti-skate e.g is tracking force is 1.2g you need about 2.0 of anti-skate.

That's not a problem with my Denon DL304 but if I want to use my Denon 103 (and I would like to buy a 103R) I can't get enough antiskate for the 2.5 g tracking force. Even with the bias up full at 3 on the dial you get some distortion in the right channel at times indicating not enough anti-skate is being used.

Searching throught the archives I have found out that this miscalibration is quite a common issue with the Ittok and can probably be rectified by rewiring the antiskate mechanism with some very thin wire. This sounds a bit hard though, I don't really want to have to try it myself. Does anyone know a shop or someone in the UK that can do this unofficial repair? I know that Linn won't touch it. (that's nice of them isn't it!)

Or does anyone know any other way around this problem. Is there anything else I might beable to adjust for example? I could buy a secondhand Ekos for £1000 but that's quite a lot of money in my opinion. I'd much rather get the Ittok fixed for the time being if I can.
