hyperbole it isn't

No noise. How loud are you playing these LP's? I have carefully maintained and stored LP's from the mid 60s on. I own London, Decca, RCA Living Stereo dogs, Mercs, DGG tulips and plain, Telarcs, M & K, D2D, Fulton Ark, Levinsons, etc. etc. My collection goes from Back to Shostakovich and occasional newer music. Some chamber and many orchestral/concerto and solo literature. Not to mention a modest jazz and 70-90's pop/rock section. Swish and groove noise at the beginning of some LP's (London most commonly) is present not on even the majority and certainly minor.

I am sorry, I exaggerate not. I don't know what you folks are doing, unless abusing the records or playing the same one over and over.

If you check my multiple posts, I am NOT a analog enthusiast only, but quite skeptical myself. And guests and friends of my age (mid 50's) are amazed since they are under the impression that analog reproduction is very noisy. In fact, if those problems truly plagued even let's say 30% of my (non thrift or donated) LP's, I'd consider dumping all of it today.
