Re: Being real...Loving the sound of CD

I have to add that I just bought the Nellie Fertado CD and played it on my system because I like 3 songs on that CD, I think her latest, anyway, bottom line, it sucked, the bass sounds mudddy and smeared, the cymbals sound like they are overdosing on some hyped up EQ with compression also, in other words it sucks on my system and really bad. On the other hand, the Chris Botti CD sounds clear, no hints of compression and the timber and trumpet sound so clear. I can't believe that their is so much compression built into the Nellie Fertado CD, it is terrible, then again if the mass of people are listening on mediocre home and car stereos and don't care for quality versus just the music itself per se, then who cares, the manufacturer is getting rich off of .99 cent cd's.

After playing the Chriss Botti CD, I then listened to my vinyl MSFL Muddy Waters Folk Singer and the vinyl Al Dimeola Casino and all things in the universe were back to normal, the bass, cymbals and aura of the music is so realistic and exhudes so mush depth and dimensionality that makes the listening experience wonderful. I will never part with my album colection nor will I ever make any digital medium my primary source of musicial playback.

Last note, I have heard both bad and good sounding recordings of both vinyl and digitial, however, as my system is more resolving than I ever had before, I am hearing many newer CD's and LP's that sound like they are pegged in the compression chamber, they sound bad. The older vinyl sounds way better than anything made today IMHO.
