There is a preview head that looks at the intensity of the music ahead of the signal being fed to the cutting stylus; and groove spacing is varied accordingly. Consequently, louder passages get more groove spacing than quieter passages. This enables the maximum length of time to be cut into the master lacquer.Best regards,
