Hi,I am using the Moth RCM Mk.2 with their own fluid (I believe it is 1/5 isopropyl alcohol, 4/5 distilled water). The method I am using is to apply the fluid with the Moth Brush, leave for around 3-4 mins (the record surface still has planty of liquid on the surface after this time), then scrub thoroughly in both directions with the brush. I use an old turntable platter on the Moth so that the record gets proper support over the whole of its surface. I then vacuum the liquid in both directions. This pretty much follows the Moth instructions to the letter, except I am using a different brush (apparently better) and longer soak time.
However, I am finding the results mixed. The sound does seem to gain somewhat from cleaning, however I am not experiencing the silent surfaces I was hoping for. There is still some crackle and in some cases I'm thinking it's worse after cleaning! I'm now reluctant to clean more discs until I can sort this issue out.
Any suggestions as to how I can improve things??
Thanks,
Mark
