DeOxIt is not necessarily a contact cleaner. More typical use is for pots. Where the fluid will remain. Just spray a short little burst into the pots wipe away the excess and then work the pot back and forth real good. From your post I'm not sure where you are using the deoxit but it sounds like on open contacts. I think there are better contact cleaners out there and other will weigh in on this. However, I have taken deoxit and sprayed into small container and then used q-tip to apply to contacts in an effort to reduce oxidation. Can't really tell you if this was effective or not but as that was all I had at the time it made me feel better.Regards,
