That is certainly one possible conclusion. On the other hand, I have hundreds of CDs that sound identical to vinyl and I can make them very easily and inexpensively.

Here is another possible conclusion. Perhaps most CDs sound just like the master tape they were copied from. Perhaps most vinyl records don't.

If one were to examine objective data for the two formats relative to freqency response, phase response and distortion, the logical conclusion would be the one I just stated. Furthermore, if one were to copy a vinyl LP using an inexpensive CD recorder and compare the two, that conclusion would only be strengthened.
