When I first heard "Lost in Space" I didn't like it at all. It must have been my mood because when I heard it later, I was completely captivated by her creativity and sincerity. I probably shouldn't listen to it so much because the graveyards are full of relatives who committed suicide over the years. Depression and bi-polar disorder run deep in my family, but I find the album to be quite addictive. I suppose its appearance of reality, rather than fantasy, is the draw for me.I believe that Aimee Mann is one of the most intense artists out there. She is to modern music what Jackson Pollock is to art. For me, there's an inescapable draw to her work, and it won't turn loose.
