I have both a red Mercury copy of Gasoline Alley and even a UK Vertigo swirl and neither sound good to me. I love the music, particularly Cut Across Shorty, but the sonics are mediocre to my ears. On the other hand, Every Picture Tells a Story and Never a Dull Moment on red Mercury (Gilbert Kong cut) sound fantastic.Reading threads like this one make me wonder why the different perspections. Is it due to different views of what "good sound" is? Is it due to different systems? or is it the different pressings?
