Home Vinyl Asylum

Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

I think that crow was in the center of all of them.

I don't remember playing my frog record very often--we had Voice of Music rig, the changer sat down inside a wooden box so it was hard to see the images in the mirrored spindle.
The records themselves were more expensive than regular records and my old man was a world-class tightwad so the froggy record was the only one we had.
The record didn't last long--this had to be in the 1950's, and my younger brother was a menace. I still remember him breaking 45s over his head (one of them was the Colonel Bogey March from Bridge Over The River Kwai)so he probably whacked the frog record, too.
The mirrored spindle stayed around for a long time though. We had a box of old toys in the corner of the basement and we'd go through them every once in awhile out of kiddie boredom. That spindle would always be there.
