a few drops from an eye dropper (I use Mobil One). It doesn't hurt a bit if you get a little too much in there because it will flow over the top and you can wipe it up. Be sure to apply some to the actual shaft before lowering it and then let it settle slowly - no force.
Do be careful not to drop the ball at the bottom of the spindle shaft.
