The actual image of the Keyboard from a real Grand Piano is actually much wider than ten feet, more like 20-25 feet.Also the image from a cymbal or small triangle is almost as large as the concert hall itself.
No recording I have ever heard images as large as a real life orchestra. Nor does it push as much air against my gut as for example a real live bass drum.
Next time you listen to live music in a great concert hall close your eyes and you will be surprised just how large the image of instruments are in the minds eye!
Also I have MONO LPs that image.
