Yes, I knew about "PRAT" 20 years ago, except back then, I called it "musicality". I bought a tt (BD2) on the advice of an AA member, because it was supposed to have a lot of "PRAT" (it did!). It knows "PRAT" better than my Roksan, Rega or Thorens. I agree PRAT is in (or isn't in) everything in audio. It is however NOT there or not there because of the music. Rather, its there or not there (or there at a reduced degree) because of the audio equipment. But, some people are confused about it because having equipment capable of recreating good PRAT is not enough, if the music doesn't have rhythm or melody that grooves you. So the music helps to reveal the PRAT aspect in a system. PRAT may be a function of the attack/decay (transient capabilities) of a piece of equipment, but I believe that it (or "musicality" in general) is also tied to the resolution of timbre (sometimes called "liquidity), which dictates the precise tonal characteristics of musical instruments or voices.
