Henry, I completely agree with this assesment of the 1006. To me it sounds sterile and lifeless. Don't know if I should eek it out for a while hoping break in will cure it, or just return it now. I'm glad the Grado cart worked out for you, but I've heard bad things about Grado carts and Rega arms (the dreaded "Grado Hum"). Thanks by the way for your input.In that case, are there any inexpensive (less than 200) carts anyone can recommend that have some life to them. I'm looking for something with a warm midrange with some bass authority and gentle highs. Definitely not looking at anything can be described as bright, analytical, harsh, sterile. etc.
