springs and such are useless compared to isolation. I have a Linn that tried all sorts of things with, finally I hung it on the wall, problem solved. I also did it with my idler table, same result. The shelves will cost no more than your springs.
springs might also work like a suspended table and ruin your direct drive sound, it is surprising how much effect that kind of thing can have on a mechanical device.
