You can walk around the room and your highest bass nodes are nearly always right in the corner.Sand boxes are great for isolation. The more sand the better!
I am using an inner tube purchased from Home Depot on my Plinth project number two table and it works more than decently well.
I inflate it only to the point it suspends the table level. I think damped springs would work too. Make sure to use foam inside the springs to cut any resonance.
