Glad to have you take a listen....some tweaking suggestions.

The Denon DL103R sounds like crap on a Rega arm....here is a good tweak to try.

Take a blu tak equivalent and stick two or more of those lead bullets to the Rega arm. One just behind the cartridge and one or more about 1/3 the way back on the arm.

I also had to hot glue one bullet for each I put on the arm wand to the bottom of my Kerry F2 Titanium counterweight. I glued them to the lowest aspect at the bottom aiming away from the cartridge. They come off real easy using hot glue.

This allowed me to ballance the critter.

The extra mass should give you slam and meat in the midrange.

If not you need a heavier arm. I can send you one if you are willing to do the work to make it work.

Off Topic, how is the Thorens sounding?

You will be pissed at me for sure for saying this, but I just finished listening to my N-33 H Rondine belt drive Rek O Kut and it just kicks ass. It is easily the best sound I have heard on a turntable in my own home. This is with the stock tonearm (CRAP) and an ADC QN-38 cheap ass cartridge!

Mosin is not kidding when he says the Pabst motor is the cats meow. Holly bat shit this thing sounds incredible and I think I paid 117 bucks shipped to my home.

I am listening with the stock belt drive and Mosin and Ray O Stat are using upolstery thread claiming even better results. I am headed to Wal Mart tomorrow to buy a spool of the stuff.

I cannot wait for the quilted maple to arrive. I plan to build a special plinth for this and work the motor outboard to see if I can get this as silent as a Basis table. I cannot afford a 50k dollar turntable. But this ROK might just get me 80% the way there.

Early listening is really promising.

Add a bunch of mass to that Rega. It will wake up that 103 in a powerful and surprising way!
