I have never owned a JD9, but I have a pair of EI Elite GOld 12AX7's [ECC83] in my TubeBox SE, and they are awesome compared to the stock JJ/Tesla.
I was going to use the TubeBox as a temporary solution until my AQVOX Phono gets here - but at this point [and these tubes], it is definitely a keeper.
