Channel Islands owners - great tweak

I have the phono preamp + vac-1 + Revelation Audio umbilical, powered by a homemade dh labs ac cable w/furu fi-11 plugs. I've been using blocks I cut from 2x4's, but propping the little boxes on wood instead of the rubber feet gives me a much nicer sound, deeper bass and the noisefloor drops a bit. I carefully put a pointed Mapleshade small wweight on top of the vac-1, nothing on top of the vpp-1. Just got 2x2 maple blocks from Mapleshade, they are $2 each, and sound WAY better than the 2x4 blocks. So, for $20 you should check this out. the only problem is getting the weight spikes to rest on the top of the vac-1, its ribbed....makes an enormous change though & i can always tell when the spikes have slipped inbetween ribs. power supplies seem to vibrate a lot. I can only assume that the CI amps & preamp may benefit as well. the small footprint REALLY limits the types of footers to play with. Anyone using anything else?
