Like you, Vinyleer, my day did not go so well. I was actually swearing "motherf@cker" at GIS software this afternoon. (That can't be good.) But after a couple beers and the calming ritual of vinyl, "I'm feeling much better now."Played Grin "All Out" on Columbia. Nils Lofgren and his brother, Tom, on guitars. They play great duel lead acoustic guitars on "Rusty Gun". Bob Berberich's smooth vocals are a perfect compliment to Nils' distinctive wail.
Then it was Violent Femmes (self titled) on Slash Records, to put things in perspective. Those Wisconsin boys' first release is a classic. How can you not smile when listening to "Blister In The Sun" or "Kiss Off" or "Add It Up" or "Prove My Love"?
Next up it's Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass...
