WRONG Digital Audio IS staircase, dither (analog noise) is added to the digital signal to smooth out the rough edges

or Digital would sound even worse than it does now.

Did you ever see the brochure for the early Sony SACD and DAT players showing the staircase digital signal? They actually seemed to be proud of it.
