Electricity travels hundreds of miles through industrial grade wire and switching equipment, chosen for its ability to withstand the elements and for low maintenance. You're trying to tell me that some great mischief happens in the last three feet between the wall outlet and your equipment. Think about it. This makes no sense at all.
